Roy Hodgson’s second spell in charge of Crystal Palace came to an end on Monday after he stepped down following a run of bad form which coincided with his ill health.
Palace had won just two in 15 matches before rumours started to circulate last week that he was on the verge of the sack, before Hodgson fell ill and pre-Everton match duties were put on held.
The 76-year-old former England manager returned to Selhurst Park in 2023 to help guide them to safety in the Premier League having previously left his hometown club in 2021, but had come under increased pressure from the Palace support for an attritional approach with the Eagles.
Former Eintracht Frankfurt manager Oliver Glasner has been made the overwhelming favourite for the job, with previous favourites Steve Cooper and Kieran McKenna drifting in the betting odds.
