Nottingham Forest Relegation Odds: 7/4 after Man City loss

It was a big weekend of Premier League action at both ends of the table, with Liverpool all but ending their title hopes after a 2-2 draw versus West Ham and Sheffield United’s relegation being confirmed following a 5-1 hammering at the hands of Newcastle United.

There is still plenty to play for as we enter the final three matchweeks of the season, however, especially for Nottingham Forest.

Forest’s Premier League status hangs in the balance after they were beaten 2-0 by Manchester City on Sunday, with the East Midlands outfit currently 7/4 to go down this term.

Premier League Relegation: Current Standings

Nottingham Forest are just one point above the relegation zone with three games left to play. They are one clear of Luton Town and just two points above 19th-place Burnley, who have dragged themselves back into the survival fight after losing just one in five.

Who will be relegated from the Premier League?

Nottingham Forest

Nottingham Forest’s chances of remaining in the top flight for the 2024/25 season took a big hit last month when they were docked four points for breaching Premier League profit and sustainability rules.

Their recent form has also done them no favours as they battle for survival. A 2-0 loss to Manchester City on Sunday was expected, but a defeat to Everton by the same scoreline the weekend prior plus draws with Wolves, Luton and Crystal Palace in the last month or so means they are in danger of slipping into the bottom three.

However, Forest’s chances of avoiding relegation largely remains in their hands as they have two very ‘easy’ fixtures left this term against two of the current bottom three.

Luton Town

At the start of the current Premier League campaign, very few people gave the newly-promoted Hatters any real chance of avoiding relegation this term, with some even expecting them to match Derby County for the lowest points total in a Premier League campaign (11).

Luton have surpassed those low expectations, sitting on 25 points from 35 games, but their recent form is a concern heading into their final set of fixtures.

Luton have lost four of their last five, including ties against Brentford and Wolves - games they really needed to get something out of. Their survival hopes are not dead in the water just yet, however, as like Forest, they have some very winnable games left to play in the final month of the season.

Burnley

Just over a month ago, Burnley looked certain to be relegated from the Premier League this season.

However, Vincent Kompany’s side how found some much-needed form at just the right time to give them a small chance of staying up. They secured a 1-1 draw with Manchester United over the weekend and beat now-relegated Sheffield United 4-1 in their previous outing.

The Clarets have lost just one of their last five and are only two points below 17th-place Nottingham Forest, with a clash versus the Midlands outfit still to come.
